Now available for Heritage Online!
Planet PC and IS Oxford’s development teams have recently collaborated to complete an integration which enables mutual users to access their Planet eStream media content via their Heritage Online interface.
Planet PC is an innovative market leader in the supply of video solutions for the enhancement of video based learning in the education sector. Their solutions cover the entire spectrum of media based applications from content acquisition and re-purposing, right through to archiving and distribution. Their Planet eStream product is a complete media management and distribution system featuring media streaming, archiving, digital signage, IPTV, TV and Radio recording, lecture capture and lesson observation. This integration is one in a series of strategic integrations with many of the market leading VLEs and Library Management Systems.
Emma Duffield, IS Oxford’s Sales Manager said ‘We want Heritage and Heritage Cirqa users to have access to all the resources they require, whatever the format and wherever they are found. Linking Heritage Online to Planet eStream offers yet another way to engage and inform library users, continuing our commitment to providing current and relevant software and services.’
John Jackson, Senior Developer on the Planet eStream team commented ‘IS Oxford were extremely helpful and provided the integration between Heritage Online and Planet eStream quickly and efficiently. The integration provides our customers a great way to query their Planet eStream catalogue from their library management system OPAC.’

Our monthly 'dress down' day raised £30.
On the first Monday of each month IS staff can come to the Chapel in their casual clothes in return for a donation of £2 to the charity being supported. Staff can nominate any good cause they feel deserves a bit of extra help. This month we supported the Jeans for Genes charity, which was the original inspiration behind our dress-down days (many years ago)!

Child death reports centralised in national bank.
You may have seen the recent news on the BBC website. The NSPCC is to become a national bank for reports known as serious case reviews. Recent cases such as the murder of Daniel Pelka have led to claims that lessons are not being learned. In England, serious case reviews are currently published by the individual safeguarding boards. Now, under an agreement between the NSPCC and the Association of Independent of Local Safeguarding Children Board Chairs (LSCB), all reports will be held on the NSPCC's website, catalogued in Heritage and accessible via Heritage Online. We are delighted to be part of this incredibly important project.
We have two new vacancies: a Junior Programmer and Junior Support Engineer.
Our monthly 'dress down' day raised funds on their behalf.
On the first Monday of each month IS staff can come to the Chapel in their casual clothes in return for a donation of £2 to the charity being supported. Staff can nominate any good cause they feel deserves a bit of extra help. This month we are sponsoring our Sales Manager Emma Duffield's husband Graham, who is running the Bristol Half Marathon on 15th September in aid of Parkinson's UK. Graham's father has suffered from Parkinson's for the past 15 years.
The first major upgrade to Heritage Cirqa was released in August this year.
